Decor that makes your classroom happy.


I love a coordinated  classroom, don’t you.  A few years ago my principal told me that every time he came into my room it just seemed so happy.  I was proud of my classroom decor which you can find in this category of my store.

CLICK HEREBut, Classroom decorating can be such a time consuming thing to do?  Don’t you agree?  Sometimes I wonder why I even bother with a classroom theme and then I realize that I am addicted to cute stationery and other cute organization things.

I just put together a trendy package with a TROPICAL THEME.  Yes, I finally caved.  I didn’t want to redo my room this year, but every time I went to the mall or Michaels I saw lots of cute stuff.  And then I stumbled upon this cute paper and clip art on TPT and my creative juices got flowing.

Here’s a quick peek at what is in each package, and then I’m going to tell you about some of my plans for my classroom.  I am going to be SHOPPING in August I tell you. I have a lot of work to do to make this all work out, but for now, I’ll just tell you about my plans.

    I LOVE, lOVE, LOVE this theme! Flamingos and pineapples are two of my favorite things, and the bright colors just pop! As we've got school-wide themed classrooms, which are already set this year, I guess I'll just have to start campaigning hard now for a tropical theme next year. 😉

It's with a heavy heart that I said good-bye yesterday to my happy classroom at Grenfell Elementary. I'm moving to a new school with a much shorter commute. I'm excited about this new opportunity but not how it happened. I was told after school on Thursday, that I was starting in my new school on Monday. I had just over 24 hours to pack up my home of 22 years. (In my school district you are NOT given access to the building on the weekend). Well, 90 boxes later (Yes, 90!) I am still not fully packed up. But now I need to plan some stuff to teach with my new kids on Monday, and prepare to host a family BBQ tomorrow night.Grenfell has an amazing staff and so I had a LOT of help from colleagues yesterday, from helping packing boxes, to doing a Starbucks run, to basically teaching my class and their class at the same time so I could pack up my classroom. I am leaving one of the sweetest, nicest group of kids to go on a new adventure. One of my now former students said to me yesterday, "It's not fair. Today is your last day, and we don't get to spend it with you."It's these little moments, when you connect with a child, that make me love being a teacher.Onward to new adventures at Franklin Elementary. ...
